Ive cycled across Korea three times. Here is the longest of the trips but Seoul to Busan can be easily done in 5 days. I have done it in as little as three but its less sightseeing and more cycling.

Also, you do not need to be in amazing physical shape to bike across Korea. You do however need a bike with very low gears because most of the country side is steep hills. I hear the bike path from Busan to Seoul is pretty good but I have never done it. 50k a day would be easy for anyone in reasonably good health. 100k a day is pretty standard for people who have real full time jobs but cycle on the weekends. 150k is doable without much pain the next day if you train.

I went for a ride along the river today. It was far too crowded to enjoy the ride - but I guess that is to be expected on a Sunday. I might go midweek and see how it is.
I would like to cycle to work, but that would mean going through the centre of Seoul during rush hours. Quite frankly, the drivers here are so bad that would be akin to risking my life everyday.

When I lived in Korea I used to take long bike trips all the time - 3, 4, 5,7 days - as mentioned in this thread, stay off the main highways, the secondary roads are full of interesting things to see.

The great thing about biking in Korea is that there are plenty of places to eat, sleep, or stop at, so you don't need any gear at all. And when you get tired just hop on a bus.

I was not in awesome shape, and I had a crap Korean bike, it was really one of the best things I ever did in Korea.

thinking about doing a cycling trip on the may 17-19 long weekend. I wanna try to do seoul - busan but I dunno if 3 days is enough to make it there.
