I was at the Garden 5 E-mart in south Songpa (near Sungnam city) today and they were closed.

Does the government now require some stores to close on Wednesdays??

e mart has cut a deal with the government to close every other Wednesday instead of every other Sunday. Its been that way since December. They figure they lose less in sales that way

You could still go to Lotte Mart, they still close every other Sunday as does Costco.

depends on the area....seoul i think everywhere is sundays, in guri city i noticed lotte close every other wednesday....i heard hannam they don't have to close at all
