You could try this woman. She's going to start collecting cats soon.

Now if somehow this get tied into a limp handshake by Bill Gates we'd have a great story that all links together somehow in the end in a tradition worthy of the finest Seinfeld episodes.

I can just see it now, Elaine getting winked at by some new guy working at Peterman. George ends up getting some cat just so he can try and hook up with some chick, but she dumps him and now he has to get rid of the cat. Meanwhile Kramer causes a kerfluffle by giving a pocketed handshake to Jerry's parents. In the end it all comes crashing down with Kramer shaking the winker's hand and Morty sitting on the cat and someone gets clawed and sent to the hospital.

As for the cat problem, just try and save up the money. It's not THAT much.

If you can't stand the cat's personality, find it a good home. If not that, a shelter. If you don't even want to do that, then it's time to man up and put it down. This is going to sound whack- but you at least owe it to the cat to have the guts to put it down if you are such a failure as an owner. Don't let it roam the street.

As an aside- I read an article, I think it was on Slate, where it talked about how urban people who had no experience with farming viewed animals vs. rural people who deal constantly with animals, especially those who actually kill and eat their food, and it basically concluded that urban non-farmers are completely naive and delusional when it comes to understanding animals and how they operate. The urban populations were far likelier to anthropomorphize them and view them in terms of "human" characteristics.
