There's been a ton of bad press on this guy and a lot of it has been unconfirmable one-sided stories from teachers, and we have to assume that their words are completely accurate and unbiased, but your story sounds much more sincere, especially looking at his growing track record.

His website is eslcafekr.com, which shows that he's trying to steal web search traffic for eslcafe, so he doesn't have to pay for ads here as often. If Dave has eslcafe.com registered as a trademark, then he has a very strong case for trademark infringement against Kang, as he is riding the coattails of the parent site and using the name to profit from.

There are a lot of people in this industry here that are instigators for why there is such mistrust between all parties. He appears to be one of them.

Careful. I heard rumours he's the evil twin of Liu Kang, of Mortal Kombat fame. Sol look at it this way, at least you got to know the school and you didn't up a fatality.

But seriously, I'm sure if you negotiate with the school they will probably work something out for you. If they say they have no money etc. ask them to put you in touch with another school (ie. network with them). Sorry to hear about your bad fortune and hope it works out well for you in the end.

Further on this. On Thursday of last week, Mr. Kang talked to me about my airfare. As of Friday, I called and suddenly I was told "his mother is sick and he had to return to the USA." I called again the next Tuesday (today May 11), and his calls are being screened. Now David Kang has someone ask who you are and "he will get back to you."

Since Mr. Kang bought http://www.eslcafekr.com I now own http://www.eslcafkr.ORG and will be devoting much time to exposing this lying bastard everywhere I can on the net.
