They've been building a new Homeplus for a few months, right next to Osan College subway Station on Line 1 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osan_College_Station and the signs are up for the Grand Opening on May 1st. I've been to two other Grand Openings, one for Homeplus and another for EMart, and they have some very good deals the first few days. Everyone in the area should check out the new store.

Because it's right next to the subway station and on the #1 subway line it's easily accessible for people coming from as far away as Suwon, Anyang, and Pyeongtaek.

They have several HomePluses in Suwon so I don't know why anyone would go all the way to Osan. Even if it's right next to the subway station I doubt it it's worth the trip.

I don't know about Anyang and Pyeongtaek, but stands to reason they have either HomePlus, E-Mart. pr Lotte Mart.

It's easily accesible for those coming for the Grand Opening. Some may be off and may want to stop there on their way coming to or from someplacve else.

Thanks for bumping the thread.

No problem. To piggyback on your Yongin subway news, any word on when the Costco at Singal is going to open? Or has that been nixed?

Turns out I will be busy on the opening day. I hope there are still deals by the time I get a chance to go there (My shift doesn't follow a typical work week and rotates frequently). Anyway, I pass this station often, so it will be good to note for the future.

The last Costco to open was at Gwamyeong station back in December. At this point, no more new Costco's are planned in Korea. Meanwhile, there are a number of new Costco's planned for Australia- Brisbane, Ringwood, Victoria, Adelaide, Casula and Marsden Park, NSW. Why deal with forced closings when there are other countries more than happy to get new stores?

I think it's more a matter of finding affordable real estate in a good location.

You'd think there'd be places falling all over themselves to get a Costco, what with the jobs and taxes. But as you state, this is Korea.

Thanks.
