This one comes highly recommended. Maybe you have seen it before.

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=09a_1218852769

I hope to start a thread here where we can trade great documentaries.

And please only submit it if it is 5 stars.

I know the one I just posted is.

I watched "The Queen of Versailles" earlier tonight with a K-ladyfriend, which was probably not a good idea if you've seen the film lol; but I would definitely recommend it. Crazy gold digging hoes out there, boys. The guy tried to build the biggest house in the US through his time share scheme, before his empire went down hard, while his wife spent upwards of 10 mil a year on clothes alone. It ends up in an interesting train wreck, but has a 95% rottentomatoes approval rating. Good flick.

Another 'must see' on a somewhat related topic is 'Inside Job'... that's great documentary. Regarding other documentary films, I always recommend Errol Morris films: The Thin Blue Line, The Fog of War, Fast, and Cheap and Out of Control.

I got more, but that's it for now.

I second "Cheap Fast and Out of Control" and the "Thin Blue Line". "The Fog of War" has been on my list an I forgot all about it, thanks for reminding me. Smile

Exit Through the Gift Shop - A very funny and highly recommended film.
Man on Wire - Enjoyable film and story.
Koyaanisqatsi - Not for everyone perhaps but it has some beautiful photography.

Exit Through the Gift Shop is great.

Koyaanisqatsi (assuming your spelling is right Very Happy) is one of the best documentaries of all time, IMO. I watched that high when I was around 16 and it had a big effect on me. It's definitely not for everyone, but I think it's one of the most brilliant films ever made. Check it out.

Thanks for your suggestions but I was really hoping a link would be posted so we could watch whatever was recommended.

Here is anther good one.

It is about the Rosetta Stone, not the one used to teach languages, but the original stone used to understand ancient Egyptian hyroglyphics.

Anyone interested in languages should enjoy this!

One of my favorite films of all time, happens also to be the first feature-length documentary ever made.

Nanook of the North: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZLROkFqG-k

Fascinating story & intrepid film-making.
