Where does everyone buy their beans from? Price?

I just got an aeropress, so I figure I should try it out.

At this point you could throw a damned rock and buy coffee beans in Seoul. Seriously.

Some highly recommended places (you'll have to do your own google-legwork, I'm working right now).

Pi Pi Coffee (Mangwon station...has his own farm in Phillipines; unique chocolate taste)

Coffee Libre(Garasugil...super popular right now)

Club Espresso (Buam Dong...been around since the 90s. Really solid coffee)

Le Cafe (Hae Bong Cheon...very solid roasts)

Ikovox (Road behind Hamilton hotel, Itaewon...absolutely delicious drip coffee)

i live out in the sticks almost and i can buy coffee beans at most of the non-chain coffee shops. Just go in and ask them. You might also want to tell them you want them ground if you dont have a grinder.
If you dont know anything about coffee, buy a small amount (100 g) everytime and see what you prefer. Alot of places will have info on strength, aroma etc. Just play around and see what you enjoy.

If you have no grinder then I certainly wouldn't buy ground coffee from any Dept Store or supermarket....most likely very old and stale.

In Korea, only genuine coffee afficionados know anything about buying, roasting, grinding and storing coffee properly.

There is an overwhelming selection of coffee beans online. Quality varies and everyone�s taste is different so it takes some trying to find the right quality-blend-roast combination. I�ve been buying from Beans Presso for over 2 years. I find their beans to be quite good and the roasting is great. For 20,000-22,000 a kilo it�s a great deal..

I strongly recommend buying a hand grinder. Most places (coffee shops or online vendors) will grind the coffee but it is very unlikely that it would be the exact grind size for your needs. It takes a few shots usually to set the right size and even so it should be adjusted later as the beans dry after opening the package. For 35,000 or so you can get a Hario or Kalita hand grinder.
