Where can I buy/purchase a kitten?

I would like to adopt a kitten - however I have always "been-to-late - sorry-buddy-you-just-missed-out, " on getting a FREE kitten on this and other sites - so now I wish to purchase a kitten from a pet store -

however most pet stores I have visited only sell puppies - where is a store in Seoul that sells kitten?

ADOPT, DON'T BUY!!!!!!!!!! there are plenty of kittens out there for free. between here, Seoul Classified, and postings I see in Itaewon, USO etc you should be able to find one easily.

Besides about 7 years ago I saw some kittens for sale at a store in Daejon, 800,000 won for one. The stores tend to sell purebreds.

Just adopt a tabby

Problem is I have had no success on these sites.... hence I was looking for an alternative....

if you wish to be my broker and can "arrange-an-adoption-of-a-kitten for me" I will be happy to pay a fee - more if you deliver

You just have to look at my advertisement on the "buy-or-sell" forum to see that - as of now - "for some strange-creepy-reason - I have had 35 viewers of the ad - but no replies"

why do people even View an add which states - Kitten wanted - if they have no kittens to give?

I know there is an animal shelter in Daejon. Here's a website about pets in Seoul. Down near the bottom of the page is a link to contact someone about adopting a cat. Perhaps they'll have kittens to adopt, too!

Giocat just up the hill from the Yongsan base sells very very cute and possibly quite expensive kittens.

Just head past the kimchi pots and it is up there after a couple of mins walk on the left.

Seeing as how people are now talking about their kitties, let me mention ours which is so new we haven't even thought of a name yet.

On Tuesday night there was this awful sound of a cat screaming outside. We ignored it until, about 20 mins later, curiosity got the better of us. I ventured outside looking for a fully grown cat sitting on a wall or something. Couldn't see anything in the darkness. Our road is pretty bumpy and there was this small pothole just a few metres down from our place. I couldn't see the cat anywhere but I could sure hear it. Then the pothole moved. I could hardly believe it.

This guy could not be more than two weeks old. He was totally lost and terrified. I brought him in. What could I do? If a scooter had come round the corner he would have been a kitty patty on the pavement.

We were toying with the idea of calling him Gill cos that means street in Korean right? Our last cat was called Paddy cos we found him in a paddy field. Long story.

Anyway, we have this gorgeous little thing pottering around our apartment now. Check him out...

Here is mine. I bought her here. I went through a private owner, much better than pet shops. Be warned though that they are a big expense. You get the cat (price). Than you need shots. My guy is just over 200,000 and is finishing up this week. Plus you should spay/neuter, which is around 250,000. Litter and food are around 20,000-30,000 a month (if you don't buy crap). multiply that by 15-20 years and you get...anyone want to buy my cat?

He does indeedy...

Hmmm I had been wondering about prices. We had a cat in Japan who never left the house. We never bothered with injections a) due to the expense and b) due to the fact that he never left the house.

Could we get away with that here? AFAIK, adult cats are pretty resistant to the usual kitty killers. Perhaps I'm wrong...

We think he is a guy and would have him get the chop. What age do they do that here? The price is about what I expected actually.

Another thing. I'm trying to track down cat litter. Is 12000-14000 a bag standard or can I find it cheaper? That's the price the local vet has it at. Looking forlornly at the huge display of doggie goods in the local Kim's Club, I asked the woman if they had anything for cats. She looked somewhere between horrified, offended and embarrassed all at once. It was quite a feat.

never mind...

Apologies for kind of hijacking this thread... Embarassed

Korean pet stores probably don't sell kittens due to the low demand.

about not getting the shots...thats a risky idea with a street cat. I waited a month until getting my kitten his shots...and he ended up giving me ring worm Shocked

And you will eventually have to get it neutered or spayed because of their howling.

At least get the normal vaccinations now, and the worm pills, it will only cost about 75 thousand won.

Saint

The operation costs around 200,000 age 5-6 months
Shots if done properly will set you back about 250,000 when all is said and done. If you're in Seoul I can tell you my vet. It takes about 2 months until all are done. You go every 2 weeks.
Litter. I use tiddyscoop and pay around the price you quoted for 5 kg. Check online in Korea, the prices are always better. They also have good selection.
