Which is the best way to get Thai Baht?
At the airport or at a bank like IBK or KB?
Also, if you had to pay something in Thailand and had the option of paying in USD or Thai Baht which would be a better exchange rate option?
Thanks! |

Exchange your won to dollars/Euros/GPB in Korea.
Buy THB when you get to Thailand.
Don't buy Baht in Korea and DON'T take Won out of Korea (the value drops like used toilet paper).
In Thailand, pay in Baht. Any place that takes dollars in payment (especially hotels) will hose you on the exchange rate.

Is it possible to buy THB in Bangkok airport and not get ripped off? I'll be there next month and need to pay for taxis etc to get to my hostel.
Or would it be better to get 1000b here and then change the rest in Thailand as you mentioned above? |

You can get appropriate exchange rate at the BKK airport from bank exchange booths.
Don't get baht in Korea. |

Rates at BKK are about 2 baht per dollar worse than they are downtown.
At BKK the rate is about 27.5 baht/dollar. (selling dollars) 1000 thb = $36.40
At the bank downtown 29.31 baht/dollar. (selling dollars) 1000 thb = $34.12.
Not sure about the rates at ICN today.
