|

I am not sure if this was listed as a question before, so I apologize if I'm asking it again. Me and my best friend want to teach in Korea next year and I was wondering if there was some way to apply to get to live together. I know it sometimes works for married couples, but what about if you just want to live with your friend. I figure it would be easier since the rent would be cheaper? |

At a hagwon, it is possible.
At a public school, if hired through something like EPIK, they won't allow it.
They will require each of you to have separate housing (even if you live together anyway).

I know this post is old but ....
I'm asking you to think if it's the best idea to room with a friend? Honestly most of the schools are going to give a studio arrangement and so you would be living, eating, sleeping in the same small area as your friend all the time. There would be no privacy and it would basically be like living in a dorm room.
Personally, I've always been given the advice "don't dorm with a friend or you'll leave enemies" |

A slightly bigger one room with your friend is a terrible idea for all the reasons you can imagine. Though you could split one housing allowance and save a bit more. |

Just concentrate on getting jobs at the same place. Take the separate housing and crash where you will. If you get a housing allowance instead, pool your coin and get a bigger place.
Most people are about done with being 'roomies' by the time they finish university, if not long before. But, hey, to each their own. |
