Anti-social individuals that are mentally challenged are everywhere, America, Korea. So what's the big deal other than it's interesting news.?
Keep in mind it's Korea that feels that good teaching qualities is less important than other qualities like youth, good looks etc. They are the ones that hire and bring these people to Korea. |

Actually, this is probably it - I've tried to find an afterschool gig and most of them are for F visa holders only - so either he's Korean-American, or married to a Korean. |

Seems like most of the big esl offendors have been Korean-American.
There was that cop-killer on the run a few years back and also that rapist guy.
High strike rate for such a small demographic. |

The gyopo factor plays an interesting role in the local media. I have seen many local news reports in the past where if a Korean-American does something bad, he/she is reported as being American, and if it is something good, he/she is reported as being Korean.
Let's see how this plays out.
EDIT: Come to think of it, he was reported as being American.
You know, we really can't win the media war when it comes to gyopos -
A positive story about gyopos is a big thumbs up for Korea, and a negative story about gyopos is a huge thumbs down for America/west.
I have nothing against gyopos, they are human beings just like anyone else here, but the way the local media plays it out - well, it's another telling sign in regards to the local media bias.
I don't doubt that steelrails and PatrickBusan will soon show up to explain why I am wrong^^ |

This would explain how he was able to work a gig with only fifteen hours a week of classroom time. |

True...haha...he could have gotten away with it. Although it doesn't take a knowledge of Korean to rob a convenience store knowing Korean would make it a lot easier. I wonder if he used English? Or his Korean was heavily accented as many Gyopos are? |

If you can find out his name, no doubt we can do a search of newspaper sites to see if he's listed in any of the public arrest records. Other than that, I don't think there's any way to find out for us Joe Average types. |

| ^Not wrong. Just reading too much into it. The other poster didn't seem to be implying that the (alleged) offender has a criminal past in America; just that he wasn't subject to a check for one. |
