Has anyone ever heard of this school? I can't find current information online. I was offered a position here, the contract seems fair, but I would like additional information about the facility and management.
Additionally, I am being offered 2.5 mil, is this typical? I want to ask for 2.8, I have a edu. degree, dual-certified teacher, and 2 years of experience.
Soko is now being considered a danger zone, so 2.8-3.0 is reasonable? |

Soko is only a danger zone if you watch too much Fox or CNN.
For Koreans it is business as usual.
Take the job or not - there are 20 more applicants just like you who don't watch CNN. "Danger pay" isn't going to happen.
It is NOT an international school and is NOT accredited by any recognized body in Canada ( http://www.cicic.ca/716/canadian-schools-outside-canada.canada?search=1&p=%20South%20Korea ).
It is a kindy - elementary hagwon.
Kindy immersion classes in the morning (9am-1pm) and
elementary aged students doing English language classes after-school (3-7pm).
If you want to work in an "international school" then quit looking on EFL job boards. Try:
http://www.tieonline.com
http://www.tes.co.uk/jobs (pick a region of the planet and go from there).
http://www.ibo.org (for a list of schools - apply directly to the schools and not the IBO).
http://www.searchassociates.com/
or look at things like the NET program in Hong Kong or public schools in Taiwan.
