knowing koreans, id say yes.

You mean scammers (online or offline), not 'Koreans'. Scammers come from all over the world. Even your country.

no, i think i meant koreans.
ive yet to have any kind of dealing with a korean that they havent tried to rip me off or at least do a shoddy job and then expect to be paid full price.
i wouldnt trust any of them as far as i could throw their mothers.

As opposed to all the waygooks that I've bought second hand stuff from while here on CL etc. only to find that they are damaged in some undisclosed way...

Scammers come from every country.

Jomashop is legit, I have purchased other watches from there. it is a grey market re-seller but legit. also if you have the receipt from the Korean tax service, that is a good sign.

Regarding Jomashop, there is no manufacturer's warranty. If the watch does need servicing it will come out of your pocket if you get it done at an AD. However, Jomashop does have an inhouse 2 year warranty but, you have to send the watch back to them.

Regardless, nice pick up! I wish I had seen that listing, I would have bought it myself. Maybe I'll see if I can find any good deals today. Time for a new watch I think.

OK, the deal has been done. I met the guy at Dunkin' Donuts at Yaksu Station. Turns out, and I verified this, he is a violinist with the Seoul Philharmonic. I also checked out his ARC. No problems. His wife bought him this watch from jomashop.com in Brooklyn, NY. I have the invoice. The serial number on the invoice and the watch match. I also saw his receipt from the Korean tax service where he had to pay duty. I brought a magnifying glass and thoroughly checked the watch. No problems. I checked that the buttons operated the chronograph, no problems. I checked the sapphire crystal and luminova, no problems.

Bottom line: Seems authentic, but the only way to check 100% is to take it to an authorized service center where they will disassemble it and verify.

So, I'm pretty happy with a month-old Tag for 500,000KRW.
