Only hours after the attack was carried out, video footage of one of the suspected killers emerged. With his hands bloodied and carrying a cleaver, he is seen telling the bystander with a camera: "I apologise that women had to witness this today but in our lands our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your governments they don't care about you."
The man, who spoke English without a foreign accent, then saunters back across the road towards his victim lying in the street to join his apparent accomplice. The two men made no attempt to escape and charged a police car carrying an armed response team when it arrived at the scene about 15 minutes after the killing, according to a witness.
"The black guy ran at them with a meat cleaver before it stopped and he was right by the car when they shot him," said Julia Wilders, 51, who lives close by. The second man, who had a gun, was also shot, she said.
The men were taken to separate hospitals by air ambulance and they were expected to survive despite their injuries, according to police last night.

You ban Michael Savage from going there and you let the biggest bunch of freaks into your land and you won't deport others.

'Freaks' is very Un-PC.
We in the UK prefer the words 'alternative personalities'
Alas, all too often our police dont shoot to kill either! |

Yeah I know the mindset. Don't be judgmental of other people..just accept their differences..lets all embrace and celebrate how different we are..isn't that great? |

What I don't get is how a simple murder by cleaver (not even a gun) of an individual (not like some mass murder scenes in the States) somehow becomes terrorism.
Just one more nut job headed for Her Majesty's Prison Frankland - Durham.

Two men used barbaric violence in an attempt to cow a population into following their religious edicts. That is terrorism. |

Wouldn't even frighten a cow never mind cow a population and they will spend the rest of their lives as guests of Her Majesty.

If your point is that this action was ineffective or counterproductive in achieving their aims I agree. However, terrorism describes motive, not scale. |

Perhaps the UK is starting to wake up out of their comfortable cosy existence...to the fact that other countries are engaged in terrible conflicts where violence is the norm. |

That would be their cozy existence dealing with the regular bombings and thousands of attacks by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) between 1968 and 2004 ??
Or perhaps the unintended consequences of following and supporting their ally into illegitimate wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Or maybe we have forgotten about the 2005 London bombings?
Yes, they certainly have had a quiet and cozy existence since the 1960s.

a soldier yourself were you? seen a lot of conflict or just commenting from behind a keyboard?
incidentally, just to follow on from tompz point, a couple of personal experiences from the land of the cosy. just before i left for korea the first time, half the street was destroyed by a terrorist bomb where i lived in ealing broadway. i cant remember how many people were killed. and my house mates workplace was bombed the year before that. the entire front of the building was ripped off from what i remember.
maybe we just dont make such a big drama about everything as you do?
you dont have a clue about the world mate. |

What year was that bombing le-paul?? people getting murdered on the street is serious. Especially in a case where these two men might be part of a larger group.
How many thousands killed in the U.K by bombing or terrorism since 1968? 2000? 3000? How many? All those thousnads of attacks. Should be tens of thousands. |

The UK just needs more diversity training and "outreach" to the Muslim community.
BTW- Islam is a religion of peace. If you disagree you will have your throat slit.
