Basically, I am wondering if anyone has obtained a Canadian CRC without having to go home to Canada to get it? I am looking at getting back into the teaching profession in August, but have been informed that I will need a CRC (I have an F6 Visa so it is for the MOE not immigration).

Does it need to be RCMP? Or would a local (town) police check be ok?

Notarized? If yes how?

Are there company's that I can use for this?

Ay idea how long it will take?

If anyone can share their experience or give me a play by play on how I should go about getting one, that would be great.

Thanks

Get prints from your GU police office.
Send to the RCMP as per the instructions on their website.
When you get the CBC back you need to send it/them to the Korean consulate in Canada for certification.
When they come back again you are good to go.

The embassy may also allow you to attest to it (swear an affidavit - cost you $50) and that will also be accepted by the MOE.

The process takes 4-6 months if you are not in Canada.

It can usually be done in a week or so if you are in Canada and go to a local RCMP detachment.

Thanks. Do you know if the MOE would accept a town police CRC? or do they need RCMP?

Also, do the police stations in Korea supply the Fingerprint paper? or do I need to bring my own? I'm guessing there's would be in korean and need to be translated?

Heres what I did re: getting fingerprinted in Korea for a Canadian crc.

I phoned the Canadian embassy in Seoul & asked for an official fingerprint form. Standard procedure, easy & free, they mailed it to me & I got it in two days. Its in english & comes with a separate set of instructions in korean for the guy who will take your prints & fill out the form.

I took that to my local main police station here & got it done no problem. It was readily accepted by Canadian authorities.
