Basil is really easy to grow. As long as you give the plant lots of sunlight and don't overwater, it should flourish. They definitely do better outside though. I've seen them sold in tiny pots at most plant shops. Just make sure to move them to a bigger pot.

by the plants on gmarket u can get 6 for less than 10,000 including delivery. if u plant from seed be prepared for a long wait. also basil clones well, so if you get one plant you can turn it in to many

For some reason, herbs that aren't often sold in neighborhood markets are sold at/around seafood markets, like Noryangjin in Seoul. I'm not sure why, but maybe it's because some things are generally only used with seafood dishes?

Anyway, I can't say for sure about basil but you can often get cilantro and other "impossible-to-find" things there (at much cheaper prices!) than at other places. It's worth a look. [
