Funniest thing a recruiter said to me, "Trust me".

I just had a recruiter tell me that ALL letters of recommendation must be in English because the ENTIRE hiring process is done in English. After I said something about the school calling my former schools he insisted that ALL communications are done in English only and that "Everyone in Korea uses English only to communicate while doing business."

Just imagine the lies they're telling the 24 year old blonde newbies.

If people don't want to visit a place in this day and age, it's not because it's 'undiscovered.' Even with a country like North Korea there are travelogues in magazines and on the internet all the time.

an unparalleled land of beauty

no, after being here for a long time, Id agree with that statement

Really, honestly you'd agree with that statement? You know what unparelleled means I take it? It doesn't just mean that some things in Korea are beautiful, It means Korea contains certain aspects which are more beautiful than any other country in the world. E.g. Its mountains are more beautiful than those in Tibet or the Swiss Alps. It's rivers are more attractive than the Nile or the Amazon rain forests. The cities are more lovely than Rome, Florence, Paris, Barcelona. Its temples are more magnificent than Angkor Wat or the Taj Mahal. Its beaches are more stunning than the Maldives or the islands of Thailand? Are you sure?

This ad I see on Dave's all the time:
Quote:
Korea is the undiscovered jewel of NE Asia offering a modern infrastructure, friendly people, magnificent cuisine and an unparalleled land of beauty

...which means it is effective. It is working as a money making tool. Just like the ad that says earning $20,000 in Korea is like making $40,000-$50,000 in the West because of Korea's "low cost of living". A lie (as products in Korea are generally equally as expensive as those found in the West), but from a business point a clever thing to say. Recruiters lie, and by doing so, increase their wealth.

It's just poetic license, and actually Korea is a bit of a jewel
