months to one month before the start date of contracts?
I don't really remember exactly how long previous to the start date of my contracts I had been interviewed and signed a Korean contract in the past.
I'm aiming for an early-to-mid-August arrival date this time. That's two months from now. I'm not in Korea now. I've had a couple offers but haven't exactly been flooded with them, and nothing I'm very keen on yet. I'm aware this is partly because I'm set on living in a coastal location, preferably Busan (and thanks but I'm not looking for feedback on that choice here) and have specified that in the emails I've sent. But would you say this is likely to pick up within the next month, or should I should I start contacting more recruiters and sending more applications?
And what about all those 'ASAP' positions. Kind of seems like a red flag, or do you think it's just kind of normal? |

ASAP is pretty common. Most hagwon's don't know until about 60-days out whether or not they will need new staff so effectively that leaves a LOT of positions unfilled at the last minute hence the ASAP.
Your choice of location IS a BIG limiting factor (you've effectively cut out about 90% of the jobs available in Korea).
Send applications to everyone who has anything close to what you are looking for. Because your job search scope is so narrow you really do need to use a shotgun approach.
