|
|
Today I took the Korean language test (writing multiple choice and speaking) in order to take the social integration course. I registered on socinet.go.kr and went for the test today at a university in Seoul.
My understanding is that I login to check my test results next week, sounds good. BUT.....anyone have any experience with what happends now????
Is there usually an evening/weekend course for those who work during the day????
Is there a seperate social integration course and a seperate Korean language course???
Thanks!!!! |

Once they have figured out the results, you will be placed into a level that corresponds to your score. The classes usually are held at various times of the week depending on their own schedule. I am sure it probably depends on where and the make-up of the course participants. When I took the course it was mainly SE Asian women in the class along with myself and one other male participant from Tibet. We had our classes on Friday morning from 9 - 1pm and Saturday from 8 - 12pm for the conversation part. The second part involving the culture and history was held on Fridays from 11 - 3 pm.
That was my situation, but as I mentioned it will depend on where it is being held. |

They usually have quite a few options for classes (in Seoul at least).
Last semester there was a morning, day time, evening, and Saturday class. The weekend class will have a lot more westerners (if you care about that).
There are 4 Korean language classes and a culture class. The first 4 are 100 hours, the final culture class is only 50 hours. You will get a separate completion certificate for the Korean portion and culture portion.
Finishing up until level 4 will give you 16 points for the visa application. Doing the final culture class will give you another 10 points. |
