Not only do I not believe in marriage, but I don't believe in going to your 'special' day.

On top of that, I'm not terribly keen on donating money as a gift.

For the price of a wedding gift, I could eat at a steakhouse or have an appetizer at Dorsia.

Mad

Why did this get moved? This pertains to working in Korea. Many ESL instructors work closely with their Korean co-teachers. Weddings happen quite often here and people are expected to go in order maintain a 'good' relationship/friendly working atmosphere.

In Asia it always helps to have a plethora of excuses for such things hard coded into your brain that can be spat out with a seconds notice.

"My sister is visiting from back home for 2 days only"
"I've already accepted an invite to a friend's 50th birthday"
"I'm going to Hong Kong that weekend"

In many cases they'll also breathe a sigh of relief at your white lie, as often they didn't really want to invite you in the first place....just kind of felt obliged.

Maybe I'm getting old and crusty, but these days social-wise I don't do anything I don't want to.....loses me some friends in the process? Big whoop.

Dorsia is a real restaurant? I thought it was made up for the movie. Shows how much I know.
