Had the first one buzz in my ear this morning.
Let me tell you the BEST way to get rid of them:
Hopefully you guys have vacuums in your house with the long extension and nozzle at the end.
Take the nozzle off and simply suck those suckers up. Even if they fly away when you put it up to them the air suction will suck them in as long as you are a couple to few inches away from them. Best way I know how to get rid of them.
Anyway....welcome to HELL
Korean mosquitoes are relentless and find ways in your home like none other on earth. This is the only thing I hate about summers. |

active carbon dioxide/heat traps are the way to go. however, if you don't want to spend a ton of money (and maybe even draw more to you) then the "mogi che" or electric mosquito rackets are amazing. they also fry 바리 and those annoying little black drain flies. i keep one next to my bed during the annoying months and zap them as soon as i see them, no running to get a vacuum and plugging it in necessary. |

I recommend everyone to buy a mosquito net to hang over their bed. Cost a mosquito net 8000won, cost of a good night sleep priceless. |

Lotte Mart sells those blue gadgets you plug in to keep 'em away. I had my doubts, but they work wonders. |

My first year here was a real pain for mosquitoes. I'd sometimes wake up in the morning to find five, six or even more of them on the walls. I know how to deal with them better now though. I plug one of those mosquito repellent things into a socket right next to my bed, and typically as long as that's plugged in I stop seeing them. It's surprisingly effective
Before I bought that I would spray them when I saw them, and at night point the fan at my bed and set it to run for twenty minutes so I could fall asleep without them bothering me. If I woke up in the night with that high pitched sound next to my ear I'd just reach over and turn it on again.
Anyway, I definitely recommend those plug in things. The mosquitoes haven't been a problem for me this year because I've been using that every night. If you get bitten any other time, rub a wet bar of soap onto the bite and it'll stop itching and go down soon enough because you aren't aggravating it |
