I'm trying to buy credit for my Skype account but I'm being told I need to buy it through a Korean company. I have to download an active x program and then it's a real pain in the ass to buy credit.
I'm going to try to get the folks back home to buy credit for me but this situation sucks. |

here is the workaround i found on another site and it works great.
1) switch your skype language to say Spanish (or German etc whatever language you took in HS and have a decent knowledge of) that will get you around the Korean company
2) Find "my account" etc and enter the info. Set it up for auto recharge and never worry about it
3) when finished, switch it back to English, should work fine. it did for me
Apparently Skype isn't allowed to operate on its own in Korea and had to use this company to take payments or even operate in Korea
other choice is to use a vpn to recharge |

speaking of VPN's, do you have any complications with them? such as making a purchase with an American card or bank? My credit union is really good at monitoring purchases that seem out of the ordinary. I am just wondering what complications come from using a VPN.....I will HAVE to have a VPN to watch espn 3 and some other subscriber services I have back home. |
