Explain.
If I do not see case law I will be disappointed. |

Would you elaborate on how those private agencies work and how much they usually cost? Or are you talking about gangster?
BTW, This guy may still have some property (car, house etc) in Korea.
The Korean police did mention my friend could go to Canada and report him to the Canadian police though. |

It's worth the hassle to at least go to the police. |

If she can prove it and it sounds like she might be able to with the documents in hand it is definitely worth it if he has a house. |

| $70K is quite a chunk of change, so I presume there is more to the story than what is being said. If she was swindled out of the money in a scam that may include other victims, she may have a case that both Canadian and Korean police forces might be interested in. |

My only experience with them is when I moved into an apartment and was visited by someone looking for the previous tenant. After that, there was another man hanging around noting the coming and goings from my place for a while.
I'm not talking about gangsters. They do not advertise.
Those who advertise do not use violence.
As for how they work: you pay some set fee to find the person and see if it's possible to recover the dept. Then your friend and the agency decide on how far to go. Most people give up and settle once they realize they can't run any more. |
