The Marmot's Hole and ROK Drop are about the only two I frequent.

It's kind of new, but ROKpaperscissors.com is pretty good. Porbably one of the more user oriented K-blogs out there, with their Gyeonggi Restaurant Reviews and the K-Urban Dictionary.

Dude that blog is brilliant. Never really heard about it until now. It so wonderfully captures the haze of alcohol. And just when you think you have it plugged a certain way, it'll surprise. Above all it is a blog attracted to the bizarre.

Agreed. It's a good read, unlike most of the other kimchi blogs.

Wow. This is a blog that I have to show to my Korean relatives and how they should feel bad about their backward culture. Very Happy

How eactly does one go about starting one of those "Kimchi" food blogs, anyway? Do you just walk into restaurants with a camera and yell "I'm a blogger. Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme free stuff and buy ads and I'll say that the "Poo stew" is just like home cooking, that you invented breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, and that the "Craptactular Crazy burger" is a real value at only 50,000 won." Or do the restaurants contact you, first? How does it work?

Many of these food bloggers have a quid pro quo relationship with various restaurants such that the restaurant gives the blogger a free meal in exchange for publicity. As a blogger's hit count increases, word of mouth among the restaurant community increases and the blogger receives more and more solicitations from restaurant owners. And that's how the vicious cycle begins.

Some restaurants are more adept at using the blogging network than others; you'll frequently see certain restaurants mentioned over and over again on multiple blogs. One thing remains certain: any and all 'food blogs' should be read with the highest level of scrutiny and skepticism.

Seoul Eats is one of the worst offenders among inaccurate food blogs. The founder of the site has no qualifications to rate food, other than that he used to work as a waiter or so at a restaurant and likes food. Rolling Eyes
