The ladyfriend and I are looking to take a beach trip soon and I've been thinking about Samcheok. I've been to Gangwon-do before, Sokcho which was nice; then Donghae which was great, even though we were actually intending to go to Samcheok, but ended up getting off at the wrong stop .

1) Samcheok is a larger city than Sokcho and Donghae, so can I assume that there are more western eateries there? I don't like most Korean food and don't eat seafood, and that was an issue with the two other previous places I mentioned. I couldn't find any information on the western establishments online or how the city is structured.

2) I'd like to get a minbak near the beach, so does anyone have any estimates on the price range on those? Also, is the town situated away from the beach, like most of Sokcho and Donghae are (mostly just Donghae since the Sokcho E-mart is close by), where you have to take the bus into town to not be forced to eat Korean food? Let me know if you have any information that could help me, and thanks in advance.
