|
|
I'm looking to teach in Seoul starting around September, and am about to start a TEFL online/classroom course that would finish beginning of August. I'd like to start applying for jobs now, though, since the market is so competitive.
Will schools hire me while I'm still working on my TEFL, knowing that I'll be done by the time I start? Or do I have to have my certificate in-hand before they'll care? |

If you have a degree and are applying to work in hagwons the TEFL won't matter. The degree is the visa requirement.
If you want to work in a public school you are already late to apply for a fall start so again, it won't matter.
Start applying.

I understand that a degree is the basic visa requirement, but it's my understanding that in Seoul the market is very competitive, even for hagwons. If TEFL gives me a leg up on other inexperienced teachers, I'm going to do it, I'm just curious if employers will hire me before I actually complete the course. |
