The wife is still nagging me to find some extra income after work. I'm not too comfortable doing tutoring, so I'm considering acting. My Korean ability is very basic.
I know there is another older gentleman who speaks great Korean (with an accent) that seems to do a lot of acting (talk shows, commercials, etc.), but I heard he works as well (principal perhaps). Because it seems that he has a lot of appearances on television, and he works another job as well, it makes me wonder if acting in Korea pays that much.
Anyone do acting in Korea? Does it pay well? How do you get started?
Much appreciated. |

^ you could maybe get a job doing something like this?
The guy in that film looks like a pedo to me btw!
Your wife sounds like she needs a *metaphorical* slap in the face!

tell your wife to go get a job.
or get rid of her (thus freeing up your disposable income).
your chances of becoming an actor in Korea are not nearly as high as you think. |

I know guys who do extras work, it's extra pocket money.
But even Korean actors here do a lot of advertisements (shudder) so I don't think there's that much money in it.
Yes I know some Hollywood actors do commercials, but here it seems every actor does. |

Have you seen those Surprise or Shocking Tv shows on Sunday mornings? I could do better acting than them. It really is terrible, but funny to watch those guys act out "shocking" stories. Try contacting the company that produces that show. |

I know a few people who do it. The average pay is around 2.1~2.3 million per month (including housing). I believe they mentioned something about getting some documents together. |
