| If the dead girls had been Korean, and if they died because of being hit by the emergency vehicle, we would be looking at Round 2 of the 2002 incident where an American vehicle hit and killed two Korean girls, along with all of the protests, anger, candlelight vigils and drama that followed. |

Not saying that what he did say wasn't without tact or that he shouldn't face some censure for the slip(?), BUT what he said was " 사망자가 중국인이라 우리 입장에서는 다행." Which I would translate as "The fatalities were Chinese so from our perspective that is lucky."

It could be translated "the fatalities were Chinese so from our position that is relief/fortunate. |
