I wear suits, dresses, skirts, button down shirts, dress pants and sometimes corduroys. No jeans. Can't do jeans and T-shirts anymore. Katy is growing up.... |

Big question is can you wear shorts and sandals?
All hagwons want you to look smart but some directors (god bless 'em) allow us to wear shorts and sandals in the summer.
I've compromised with my director.
Shorts are a no-no but sandals are go!!! (but only with socks..Bah!!) |

I started with a shirt and tie and slacks...
Decided that was a bad idea teaching kindergarden...
Switched to polo and slacks...
Saw the Koreans wearing t-shirts and jeans...
Switched to polos and jeans...
Now I'm back to slacks and either a button down casual type shirt or polo.
If my director ever said I could wear shorts and sandals, I would never leave and take a 50% pay cut. |

I have five jobs. I wear different things to each of them. Haven't worn sandals to work for two and a half years. Gets a bit sticky. Incidentally, I haven't worn jeans at all in two and a half years as well. Khakis and a dress shirt seem to be acceptable no matter where I go. |

Would you wear a wifebeater normally? |

Does anyone else find that their Korean coworkers can wear anything they want, and yet you feel you *have to* dress up?
At my middle school, my coworkers can wear jeans and sweatshirts and T-shirts. I suppose I could to, but feel I have something to prove through my wardrobe. |

I tend to dress up a lot for school. Dresses, skirts, dress pants, jackets. I have special indoor shoes and I'm not allowed to wear sandals. I have got watch out for anything low cut and I'm not allowed to wear skirts without hose in summer and sleeveless anything is a definte no no. |

I know it's a fashion faux pas but socks with sandals is so comfortable and not at all sticky. Except for 3 day old socks!! |
