I don't need someone to hold my hand, I don't have a co-teacher. Maybe you do so that's why you assume everyone has one.
I know public school teachers are mostly pruned up ajummas but at hagwons I would be surprised to find a teacher over 45. Most of my fellow teachers (I'm the only waygook there) aren't even 30. Guess I lucked out. Or else you write some really disturbing fiction as a hobby... I'm thinking its that one.

...in your opinion? Someone who 'is bad at being a human being' is a 'bad human being'. What that means is obviously subjective. You seem to think that someone has to be a genocidal maniac to fit the bill, whereas I think that anyone who is selfish, greedy, a liar, a racist etc. is a 'bad human being'. |

Waygeek, we'd still like to know what makes YOU a "good human being" compared to the 90% of us who are not. Why are you avoiding this request?

Knowing that I'm not a saint or 'right about everything' and constantly working towards fixing that is a start that you could put into play Scorpion. Then move on to your actions. Do they really make your life better? Do they make other peoples lives better? Starting with introspection like that would be the start in getting away from being a hateful racist whose life seems to revolve around whining online about a people you don't seem willing to distance yourself from geographically. |

Thanks darlin', I'll start working on that right away. Now, what about the other 90% of foreigners who (you claim) are also bad human beings. While you've got a captive audience here on Dave's why not try to help as many of that 90% as possible. Don't lose this opportunity to make other people's lives better! |

For the co-teacher issue, how about just going on the charm offensive?
-Be polite and friendly (not TOO friendly).
-Leave a small gift on her desk, make sure everyone sees it. Tell her it's for helping you out with classes, etc.
If at this point she continues to be a _________ to you, it'll just make her look bad.
She'll still hate you, but she may be more reluctant to show it after you've treated her nicely.
Sure it's fake... but isn't almost everything here? |
