Just noticed two new things about iherb:
they've got some kind of discount for international shipping, and,
they're now using Korean Postal service, requiring you to enter your ARC number.
From memory, the maximum order before incurring a penalty was w120,000 for six products or less. Now, however, the postal service simply does not accept orders over w110,000, cost of delivery (internal to Korea, which is w6,000) not included.
Seems like an improved system. Does anyone else have more recent experience of ordering, and any different opinions or perspectives? |

The delivery system is excellent.
I get my orders in about 5 days.
The order limit used to be 150,000 won
Now, the limit is $105.
No big deal...I just make more orders.
Very happy with the delivery service and iherb in general. |

Thanks for the reply TCM,
but wait: you're saying the limit before being taxed about w40,000 extra by customs is now w105,000 - ?!
Or do you mean just the Korean Postal limit for delivery is that? |

The postal limit is that.
And because it is lower..it speeds up the delivery time.
At first I was bummed about the lower limit...as the delivery cost is the same.
But the delivery time is really fast now, as there is never any issue with going over the customs limit.
I have received orders in 3 days with this new system.
So far my longest order was 6 days...the average is 4-5.(including the weekends) |

Oh wow, that's great news. Thanks a lot for the info. TCM!
I was always pretty impressed with the delivery in the past actually, but it stung pretty badly when the limit changed - I think it did change at one point didn't it? - from w150,000 down to w120,000. Though the limit's lower I'm glad no-one's going to get any surprise extra costs of one third to half the original package before actually getting it delivered any more!
So it's good news to start the weekend and finish the month of free international shipping there. Just in time! |

| Iherb has been awesome over the last while. I order from them a couple of times per month. The delivery has been fast consistent. |

You mean the allowance for duty? I had ordered things in the 150,000 range and not paid duty. But more than, I had to pay duty. Has that been reduced? Also, you can't order more than this amount and just pay the duty? Had ordered clothes before and it was alwats cheaper even with shipping and duty than buying in Korea. |

This was just for iherb.
Iherb reduced their limit to avoid any problems with customs.
So far as I know...they don't allow you to order more.. At least not with the computer system...you may ask to make a special order.
Right now they have free shipping...sweet. |
