It was a "leave your brain at the door" kind of movie. Quickly forgotten after watching it but entertaining to see.

A true mindless summer blockbuster: all visuals & effects and nothing more.

See what I liked about it (and where I thought it did well as an homage to Godzilla), was that it was unashamedly about the visuals and the effects. There wasn't really any BS romantic sideline, they weren't selling sex, they weren't heavy handed with the corny jokes. It's just straight monster on robot battle.

I appreciate the feedback. It sounds like something to see at a matinee showing with a flask or two in tow.

Pretty much watched it for Charlie Day and Idris Elba, and the fact del Toro directed it. Best mindless fun hollywood blockbuster this year. Better than the superman or Ironman movies. I don't think the movie ever tries to be what it isn't. Doesn't take itself seriously.

I had fun and got what I expected.

I had as much watching this as I did when I saw Transformers 3.
