|
|
I have studied Korean language at a few different places and there is 1 teacher who stands out as being a very good teacher and she will teach me 1 on 1 at a private classroom at one of the universities in Seoul.
Of course I will be paying more than if I were going to class BUT I can meet her at more flexible times and I think that it is likely to be more intense with doing 1 on 1. BUT I could be wrong.
Any feedback?? Am I correct in thinking that I will likely learn faster 1 on 1 than in a classroom? Any personal experience?
Thanks!!! |

from my personal exp., id say it may not matter who your teacher is, so much as how much time you put in between classes. Its the homework and self study that make the difference. For every hour you learn, you should be doing 4 plus by yourself.
Teachers are for showing you how, correcting and explaining. If you want fluency, i suggest a language exchange or just talking korean with friends and colleagues.
AS well, you should be learning off lists of vocabulary outside of class as classroom will most likely be grammar. Youre wasting your time learning that stuff in a classroom in my op. when you can just as easily do it in a coffee shop, on a bus or in bed. Id realistically go for between 5 to 20 words a day, depending on how fast you learn.
And always, ALWAYS review everything youve learned.

| Listening and reading will be pretty much the same in a 1:1 setting as in a group class, but you will be able to get faster feedback for speaking and writing with just the two of you. You can definitely get more out of it. The question is will you put in the time in between sessions to make it worthwhile? |
