I think for a proper discussion however, one would need to offer better material that's closer to the questions posed in debates (hypothetical or real-life situational background+open ended question).

yeah, i did state that they are 'lesson openers' and I specifically didn't say they are debate questions.
I set a stopwatch and dont allow any korean in that time. If i hear a korean word (apart from names) they get penalised ( this week theyre getting sprayed with water).
After that, I follow a lesson plan which usually involves a book and then 20 mins or so of questions based on a topic.

Bearing in mind my lessons are usually 80 mins, theyre quite helpful!

Spraying water? That is going a bit too far, no?! @@

Hells no.
Because humans are made out of 95% water. So we are 5% away from a pool.

maxim and spiral staircase, do you think you could possibly cut and paste some free-talking q and a sheets onto this post, so that I can use them this week for my conversational English classes?
You two seem to have it 'in the bag' so if you wouldn't mind sharing! I can also post specific topic question sheets that I've made if you'd like to trade?

cheers
