If you woke up this morning and found out that you just gained an unexpected $305641?
Stay here?
Travel?
Go home and buy a house?
Drink yourself to death?

| Get a suite at the Hyatt as I waited to get my apartment deposit back, raid some of those high end establishments in Gangnam and buy the finest girls there out for the weekend, do my thing then split. Preferably to some cheap South American country where there's a bunch of good weed, spend about two months relaxing there, then head back home and sit on it as I headed down my already planned path. |

| Just wait it out. It's clearly someone else's money and they're going to want it back. One day earlier this year, my girlfriend opened her student loan account to find her repayment balance at $0.00! Of course (and unfortunately) this wasn't actually true, as we later found out the lenders just passed her debt to a different company. |

Go home then buy a house. Later rent it out if you feel the need. |

| Get an MA I am interested in and then a university job teaching or researching something I love, and then coast for the rest of my life, alternating between my hometown and job, and then summers in Lake Como in Italy. |

Yeah, I have this type of fantasy sometimes. In it, I quickly rush to the bank and oull out all the cash before the mistake is noticed and they take it all back out of my account.
If it was legitimately mine.... Then I'd probably transfer it to some different accounts (for security purposes), give some to people who might really need it, like sending some to needy family members or donating some to charity, and maybe buy myself something I'd been really wanting, like a new coat or something. But for the most part, I'd just chill for a couple of weeks instead of going crazy right away. If I was in the middle of a Korea contract, I'd try to finish it (not really telling anyone about my fortune). If they were doing illegal stuff/treating me like crap, I'd leave without a second thought.
Then I would do some traveling and like someone else said, continue to go towards my goals, whatever they might be. (Hehe of course they would partially be having a great time and being comfortable.) |

In what world is a little more than $300,000USD a huge fortune you can live off forever?? That's six years of pay if you make around the average income for a college grad in the US....
If you're shooting for an AVERAGE retirement, plan on saving 2 mil USD or more, otherwise you'll be finding your 70's and 80's rather difficult.
But it sure as hell is a good chunk of windfalls. I'm all for the buy and rent a house option. Or find a few other smart investments. In 20 years that shit could hit 1 mil ^_^ |
