|
|
Where can I buy a USB-Ethernet adapter around Anyang/Uiwang? My officetel has an ethernet wire coming out of the wall for my internet. I tried to buy a router, but the instructions were all in Korean and I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. Ended up returning it.
I need the USB adapter plug because I have one of the retina display Macbook Pros and they don't have an ethernet port in them... Any suggestions where I can get one of these? |

I don't know about Anyang, but most people with your computer who need a LAN connector use a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter (not usb). That should be your first choice. Get them wherever macs are sold in your area. |

I have one of the thunderbolt to ethernet adapters. They are a bit on the pricey side, but does the job on the occasions I travel and staying at a hotel with only ethernet connection. This is the connector you need:

BTW a few months after I bought the ethernet connection I thought about it and went out and bought the Apple airport express (the small router apple sells). Instead of using the thunderbolt to ethernet dongle, you could just plug in the apple airport express to any ethernet connection and your retina macbook will connect to the airport express wirelessly. The nice part is that my other electronics/gadgets can also use the apple airport express for internet (iPhone, iPad, wife's laptop) when necessary. Forget if manual is in English, but can easily look up directions/manual on Apple's website.

Something like this? : http://gmkt.kr/eOir6A
BTW, though your frustration from not understanding instructions in Korean is understandable, it might still be a wiser move to have a real router up and running unless you plan to pack up and go someplace else soon, even if that means you have to appropriate some help with the translation. |
