Went to Han's store in Itaewon yesterday to pick up some beers and he overcharged me. I went back and got my refund, but he tried to short change me on the refund.
If you're shopping there keep an eye on the thieving little arsepiece.

Sorry you had to deal with that and I'm sure people will appreciate the heads up. ^_^

I've never been overcharged (that I know of haha) but he does seem disinterested (which could be the cause). Makes me wonder why the selection is so great if he doesn't
bother to talk it up with customers every once and a while.

I live near Han's store and often walk past in the morning with my dog. This guy is disinterested because he is there at least 18 hours a day. He is always there at 10 am, possibly earlier, cleaning and getting things together, and is usually there until 2 or 3 am. I feel like a zombie if I have to teach more than 4 hours a day. I can't even imagine working that much.

I love the store, so I hope it was an honest mistake, I don't want to hear more stories and have to boycott!

I stop by Han's store every time I go up to Seoul. It's the only store that actually sells craft beer in Korea that I know of (other than HomePlus). We even talked about our favorite beers, the Korean import tax code, and so on. Like in most situations, though, I did start the conversation, so I suppose I might not have this impression if I just made my purchase and left. Still, he seems like a really nice guy, so I'm surprised to read this. I assume this incident had to be an accident, since he scans the prices of all his products electronically. Did he double charge you or what?

Thieves don't usually tell you what they are.
I bought about 8 bottles of different craft beers and he electronically scanned them. However, when he was scanning them he double scanned one bottle and neglected to scan the other. A clever move as the bottle he double scanned cost 8,900won compared to the 5,900won of the other. I checked the receipt right outside the store and went back into the store to complain. I went over to the fridge and shouted the price out to my girlfriend. He apologized to her and gave her 2,000won change.
I thought that was the problem solved but as I got to the station I thought I'd better double check. Then I noticed he short changed me 1,000won. So I marched back up and told him to sort it out. He knew exactly what he had done and gave me the money.
He's a fucking thief and I told him so to his face. And what did he do? Nothing, because he knows what he did. And now so do you. Once might be a mistake. Twice means a shameless thief.
So when you shoot the shit with him, keep that in mind.

Based on the general theme of other posts of yours on Dave's, you seem to have quite a bit of hostility/distrust toward Koreans.

What a scumbag. Will never take my business there again. Ive been shortchanged many times here in Korea. Something about this place where Koreans think they can take advantage of us because were foreigners. Be careful out there.

Not at all. If you read enough of my posts you'll see posts about conversations with my Korean friends, compliments about my girlfriend and her family, and more positive comments. I have no hostility towards Koreans. I treat them the way they treat me. It just so happens that I am far more likely to post here about a Korean trying to rip me off than I am about a Korean providing me with adequate service.

Finally, there seems to be a couple of posters in this thread who don't want to believe this happened or somehow want to perceive me as the bad guy in this particular thread. It's time to take your head out of your asses and realize that everything I've posted here is true.
