I don't know what I'm talking about, but I wanted to know why do people go to Korea to go into the navy thing?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Why do people specifically come to Korea to join the military? If that's your question, well they don't. They join the military in the US and then the military sends them to Korea for a set amount of time, usually a year or two.

Why do they send them to Korea?


It's part of the armistice (cease-fire agreement) after the Korean War. The US military is here in case a conflict arises with N. Korea.

The navy thing - as in old navy - http://www.oldnavy.com/ ?

To buy clothes - you know, the thing you put on when it's cold or just because you are bored. It's a human thingy and you're welcome^^

As a point of fact, it is possible to join the US Navy while one is in Korea. One must be either a US citizen or a US "green card" holder first, though.

There already are a lot of posts in Korea.

I think you are talking about the protests surrounding the possibility of a US Naval base being built in Jeju. It wasn't really on the international radar until Oliver Stone decided to show up.

So kind of like, um, Defend Dokdo, but not at the expense of the beauty of Jeju, or something like that.
