|
|
I'm getting married in December back in the states and I'm supposed to be trying on wedding dresses to see what style looks good on me. However, it seems as if all the wedding stores have sizes for women who are paper thin which I'm not.
Are there any places that anyone knows where they have dresses that would fit the average person?
Any help would be appreciated. |

What size is average? Are you having the dress made here or just shopping around? |

But paper thin is the average dress size in Korea. I think what you're looking for are dress shops for above average size, which is why you could try shops around areas where there are a lot of foreigners. Just my guess though. |

I'm a size 6 and I'm just shopping around to see what kind of dress is best for me.
AJ, I've never seen a wedding dress shop on itaewon or the like so I'm not sure it's the best place for me to look. |

There is a wedding dress street with hundreds of stores between Ahyeon Stn. and Ewha’s Women’s University Station. If you don’t find something there it’s simply because it doesn’t exist. |

If you're an American size 6, you should be able to find something, though it'll likely be the largest size that they have. I'm an American size 4 and I can usually find something in Korean shops, though the clothing tends to fit differently in key areas. If you've got an hourglass, go for an empire or princess cut and you're golden. Worst case, wait until you get home. You likely know what dress shapes suit your body type. |

Oh boy, just by a BKK round trip in JEJU AIR for like 400k won, buy your suit there and enjoy your last single days lol
You can even buy your wedding ring there, much cheapier than here |

I am having my dress made; have not been able to find any dresses that I like that fit me (having boobs bigger than a B cup makes it difficult to shop in Korea).
The dressmaker I got in touch with is called 드레스뵈뵈 - you can find them easily on Naver. If you don't speak Korean you'll have to get someone else to contact them for you. You can show them a few dress designs you like and they'll give you a quote. I showed them three different designs and they gave me a different quote for each, but you'll pay less than a million won most likely.
Another popular option nowadays is Jasmine's Bridal Shop. They're based in China and basically just make knock-offs of designer wedding gowns. Maybe not the most ethical sort of business, but they get rave reviews from everyone. They ship worldwide. |
