Unless you talk about extending, I think it is fair for both parties to assume you aren't.

Presently I'm working public school with my contract ending in 3 months (yes strange date - November). They asked me if I'm going to renew and I said I wasn't. So now they are sad, and acting like I'm betraying them. If they wanted me here long term, they could offer me a permanent job. That's the nature of contracts. |
I told them I wanted to extend my contract on numerous occasions. I just never took the extra step to try and formalise it. |
