So I know the subject of tattoos has been beaten to death here in this forum, however I was not able to find this particular question.

I went and got fingerprinted for my background check today. While doing this, the police officer asked me about my tattoos. It being summer, they were on display so I couldn't really lie.

My background check is going to state that I have tattoos on both arms and legs, as well as my back. However, they're all easily covered up.

I was going to lie on my EPIK application, stating that I just had a small one on my forearm (it's near my elbow and small, but will be the hardest to cover). However, I'm worried about EPIK catching me in a lie and rejecting my application.

Has anyone else ever dealt with this, or can anyone offer some advice?

An FBI check shouldn't say any such thing.

It should have one line on it. No record found.

The only thing they will be looking at on the background check is that it's apostilled and says that you have no criminal record. I don't even know if it will state that you have tattoos, but nobody at immigration will be looking at anything but the 2 things stated.

Are you sure you got an FBI background check? You don't even see the people that give those. You fill the form out online and send it in the mail with your payment and receive a background check in the mail that you then have to send off to D.C. for the apostille.

I did submit a background check through the FBI. I guess I was just confused a bit. When I was fingerprinted at my local police station, I had to list the location of my tattoos.

I just assumed this would be on the background check. Thanks guys!

As if you're a common criminal? That's plain wrong.

They do ask eye color and hair color so I think it is just to help them in case there are many people with your name, DOB, etc. It does not show up on the CRC though. Unless you have tattoos on your fingertips you should be okay.
