Fox, bucheon bum, and radcon, I think you should donate. I mean you are in favor of forcing others to pay for welfare, public housing, health insurance, SSDI, and food stamps for poor people in America, yet you won't voluntarily donate money? |

I support governmental welfare programs precisely because I am mistrustful of private, accountability-free charity. I donate only locally, to members of my community whose need I can see myself, and whose conduct I can if I wish observe myself. Beyond that, a systematic, politically accountable governmental structure is the only means through which I am willing to disburse funds to the needy.
Remember, it is the libertarian, not the socialist, who insists private charity can solve our social ills. I don't believe the libertarian is generally sincere in that, so I don't expect you to donate, nor do I even press you to do so. If you do, however, you will certainly have impressed me with your generosity and dedication to your principles, and you will have helped someone ostensibly in need as well. Whether that is worthwhile or not is up to you. |

I dont like cleaning my house. It sucks and takes away from my time to do fun stuff. I also dont like grocery shopping because fruit is expensive in Korea. Oh.... and I want a $300 portable speaker to blast hip hop with when Im riding down the Han on my bike. Please donate towards my cause. I need the money more because I dont even have 200 fb friends. |

Hmm... a very touching story.
After much contemplation, I have decided to send this woman my second air guitar.
If she masters it, she may be able to make additional income via concert performances. Yet, if she finds the need for money more immediate, she may sell it like I did.

Somehow "can't" has changed to "don't like".
5 mental and physical problems, two caused by things outside her control completely and are not repairable - are not making her "not like" things.
She can't. Can. Not. Not possible.
It's more than just a bum knee and a cold and feeling cranky. It's more than just not wanting to clean the house and grocery shopping.
Saying that someone who has 5 disorders just "doesn't like" to work....is damned close to disability shaming.
And by the way, I'm not a scammer. You can look up this woman at the link. I am teaching in Korea. I've been on this website for quite a while and have never, ever asked before.
If that's a scam, I don't think you know what a scammer is. I can give you a direct link to this woman and talk with her if you want to prove she exists and needs money for a valid reason.
And GOD the shaming of me and my friend is just SAD and sure earns the reputation this board has! I guess I just proved it really quickly. Okay, I'm getting no money from here. I'm still going to work to help my friend in any way I can because I care. |

That's because this is not the first such site she's put up asking for money (seems to be every six months by my count).
Had an interesting morning reading about this girl over breakfast. She's on youtube, twitter, blogspot, wordpress. Regardless of her past, I couldn't find one good decision she's made. And she has an excuse for everything. My favourite was that her boyfriend sabotaged her birth control.
OP, may I suggest that you consider the possibility your friend has been taking you for a ride for some time. Some people consistently put themselves in risky financial situations thinking that they can always ask friends for help when things go sour. |

Link to a separate instance where this woman has begged for money?
We need to put the nail in the coffin in this stupid thread. |

For anyone interested it seems our beggar has a blog, and even a Youtube Channel. Looks like she spends a lot of time pushing abortion as an actively positive thing. I watched the latter briefly, until she mentioned the fact that she was possessed of "unmitigated glee" (her exact words) that she had an abortion. I've met pro-choice people before, but I don't think I've ever met someone who was literally and explicitly "pro-abortion."
She also begged for money in her April 13, 2011 blog entry, so this begging has been going on for at least two years. Cacille, expecting us to give this woman money, and then trying to shame us for our reticence, is completely unreasonable.

She later backed off that position somewhat after the harsh response she got. Within a year she was saying the abortion she live-blogged-on-youtube was a medical necessity, that she didn't have a choice about it.
Jeez, I need something better to do on my holiday. |

Wow... she was begging back in February. OP is either Angie or a complete sucker. Game. Set. Match. Scam. |

Yes, she begs for money a lot. I'll admit to that.
She does have a 7 year old autistic child she is trying to support. She actually made many good decisions you don't know about - namely, moving out of the bad situation into a good-at-the-time situation, before the man lost his job (economy reason only). They've been trying to survive ever since, and they have been looking for jobs at every turn. Hell, fiancee walks everywhere to go searching for jobs, getting groceries, etc. For those who don't know, that's about a 3 mile journey each way. They live in the lowest rent place they can find and it happens to be in a food desert area. Namely, an area where there is no food mart within one mile.
I think they've been completely responsible with what they were given. They learned to make food from scratch, not from boxes. They buy flour, eggs, etc - the basics, and make their own food because they can't afford even boxes of pre-made food. A birthday gift for their son is them getting him a free slurpee at the local 7-11.
And yes, having an abortion and being pro-abortion, speaking out for women's rights, is a perfectly good thing. I don't believe men can have an opinion on this subject, plain and simple. Her medically-necessary abortion has been completely open from the start. I remember seeing her first video about it, before she got "famous" from it. She's not making it up, I know the reasons she needed to. She almost died having her first child, before they knew she couldn't have children. She barely survived having her son, so a medical abortion was necessary after that. Regardless, a woman can have one if she wants, for any reason or none.
While my friend can't really get off her "arse" as you so nicely put it, she and fiancee are at least attempting to get out of poverty by teaching themselves coding and recently opening an online stone for 3d printed items.
I'm not shaming you for not donating. I'm shaming you for trying to shame her and myself for trying to help her in any way I can. I believe you'd do the same for a close friend of yours, regardless of who he/she is now or was in the past and regardless of their financial status, history, employment or lack thereof. |

No, Cacille. Supporting the legal right to an abortion is arguably a decent, just thing. Being actively pro-abortion -- gleefully happy about abortions -- is not.

Then go and support your ebegging pro-abortion activist friend out of your own pocket. At this point you've pressed us to give a professional beggar who uses her time to be a pro-abortion activist money, tried to shame us for refusing, and now you're telling us we don't even have the right to our opinions?

Care to kill a baby for no reason? Cacille says, "Sounds great! High fives all around!" I've defended the basic legality of abortion on this forum, but your callous, inhumane attitude is disgusting.

No. Rather than try to push the burden onto others, I'd simply pay off my "maxed" credit card and then use it donate the money my "close friend" so desperately needed. I've encouraged you to do the same several times now, what is delaying you? |
