idiot.

I'm starting to think that you're actually a young adolescent that just drops by occasionally to post obnoxious comments. You certainly don't sound like someone who is any older than that. I sounds like your world view is shaped by the hip hop music you must listen to for hours everyday.

Nah, you're the 40 year old loser teaching English, I'm just making fun of you because I think you're an obnoxious jerk. Did I hurt your online feelings?

The difference between you and me is that I don't take your online attacks seriously, I consider the source. You're the first poster on this board I've ever had conflict with, you creepy old cracker. I call them like I see them, you are a weirdo and you're DULL. Why don't you get off the internet altogether? Loser.

WaPo editorial calling for bombing of Syria

Hoping Obama continues to ignore those wanting us to be more "pro-active" in Syrian affairs.

Tunisia Broadens Crackdown on Extremists

It is the one Arab country I hold out hope for. It still has the most potential to become a successful democratic republic.

Quote:
TUNIS — Tunisia’s Islamist government on Tuesday declared the largest radical Islamist movement in the country a terrorist organization, broadening its crackdown on Islamist extremists and distancing itself from their violent activities.

Prime Minister Ali Laarayedh announced the decision, saying the group, Ansar al-Shariah, was behind two political assassinations this year and other attacks on police officers and soldiers. The group and its leader, Abu Iyadh, have also been accused of orchestrating an attack on the American Embassy in Tunis, the nation’s capital, last September.

Quote:
Cairo (CNN) -- Former Egyptian military chief Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is poised to win his country's presidential election in a landslide -- though the legitimacy of his victory is already being questioned.

Exit polls suggest el-Sisi won 95.3% of the vote, while opponent Hamdeen Sabahy garnered only 4.7%, according to data from the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research and the Egyptian TV channel MBC Masr.

Mubarak Reportedly Leaves Cairo for Sharm el-Sheikh

CAIRO The Egyptian military appeared to assert its leadership Friday amid growing indications that President Hosni Mubarak was yielding all power. A Western official said that Mr. Mubarak had left the capital, though that could not be independently confirmed.

I have a hunch things won't change much in Egypt. The only difference will be a new leader running the show and the military will play a more open role in domestic affairs.

Probably all predictions become right at some point or another...

I didn't know USG shut intrade down. I assumed it just faded away.

Every month continues to be deadlier than the last for Iraq, as May saw 2,249 people killed and 1,953 wounded, up from 2,034 killed in April and 1,886 killed in March.

Those are some big numbers. I find it endlessly frustrating how regime media will shine a spotlight on a country for a time and then turn it off. Iraq and Libya are perfect examples.

It is surreal. USG smashes a country, causes a humanitarian catastrophe, and then walks away. Thousands continue to die and it isn't an issue. Some nutter in California kills 6 people and it is the Biggest Story Ever. We must seem so narcissistic and evil to the people of those nations.

I agree with your general point, but Iraq and Libya are apples and oranges. In the case of the latter, it was going to be a humanitarian disaster even if NATO hadn't become involved. The former is just disgusting and indefensible.

And if you want to be even more disgusted (who doesn't want to be??), I recommend checking out the Errol Morris documentary on Rumsfeld. What an arrogant sociopath.
