This sends a strong message out that waving knives around on public transport in Canada is likely to get you shot. That's not a terrible message to send out, IMHO. |
The real message is old but apparently needs to be repeated.
Cops are cowards.
Don't give them reasons to keep proving it. |

Wow, that was fast. I heard that these investigations can take months (not least due to police non-cooperation with the SIU.) From what I can determine about the details of the shooting it came pretty close to a public execution. It seems the investigative body also concluded that the shooting(s) look very unorthodox and possibly criminal.
I will be following this case with interest. I respect police officers, and acknowledge that they often have a very difficult job. But they are not above the law, and cannot go about gunning down citizens who pose no immediate danger to anyone. That kid should be in a jail cell or a psychiatric ward, not a grave. |
