|
|
I'm having some issues with my landlord. I had a leak a few months ago that he has yet to fix. Water seeped into my wallpaper, which caused loads of mold and mildew. He was supposed to fix it on my month long vacation, but he didn't bother thus creating even more of a mold issue. I tore out the moldy bits, so now there are chunks of wallpaper missing. It's been over two months now and he is continuing to blow me off.
What can I do get help? My Korean and his English is limited, so I've had someone help me on the matter but it still got us no where. I even tried speaking to my real estate agent, but he's pretty doesn't want to deal with it because it's technically not his problem (and I can't blame him).
I'm at the point where I should just do it myself as there is some leftover wallpaper left, which will probably be much easier than hassling everyone. Even still, as a landlord he should be responsible for making these types of fixes. Is there any outside help I can get for this issue with my landlord?
Thanks for reading and for your time!

Go ahead and fix it yourself! That's what I have done over and over again.
Your landlord doesn't think mold is a problem. Please believe me on this one! |
One landlord even replied... "oh, its just mold!" |

Justin, if you move your query over to the general topics, you'll probably get more replies. People don't look on this page as much as the others usually.
Good luck |

Why isn't your school calling him? |

If it's school provided accommodation then I'd get onto the people at your school. If they refuse to do anything then I'd suggest quitting.
If it's private accommodation then I'd stop paying rent and really get in his face about it. Phone him all the time. Keep harassing him. Also start busting the estate agent's balls.
Where is it you live, OP? |

Call the Global Center or visit them and they will call for you. Explain the situation and have them yell at him. I had a global center employee tell me that unless you yell at Koreans to fix something, they won't do it. |
