I had one wisdom tooth pulled on the lower right side that was partially impacted about a week and a half ago in Korea. Now I have this incredible constant pain in my jaw. The dentist says it's not dry socket and that it's just the normal healing process, but I can't even concentrate with this amount of pain. Has anyone else had this similar problem in Korea? My roots were curved and the dentist said that that was going to cause my recover to take longer since they had to remove more of the bone.

I had my bottom two wisdom teeth removed when I was in high school in Canada, and they were impacted. They had to cut part of the bone to get my teeth out. For my first few days I was on pain-killers and couldn't eat anything solid for a week. They gave me some weird plastic syringe-like contraption to clean out the wound in my mouth. At the end of about 10-days, I had a checkup so they could check the stitches and how well I cleaned it. Just say I didn't clean it well, it was gross, the doctor sprayed out a lot of food gunk, and told me don't be afraid to really spray at the wound to clean out all the food.

Anyways, I had a light pain for about a month. Then after that no pain really, but still that opening where if you pulled at it, you can actually see bone. That took about 6 months before it sealed up.

Wow...dentist told me the same thing about not brushing well enough. I was just too afraid to accidently knock that blood cloat off while brushing back there. I hope the pain goes down more before I go back home in 2 weeks...

Same thing happened to me, I had my lowers removed and maybe 5 days later I had a throbbing pain in my lower left jaw. Dentist said it was dry socket and to clean it out. I thought I was cleaning it out correctly, I was being real gentle with it because it hurt like hell.

Went back to the dentist becuase the pain was getting worse. He took one look and jammed that suction thing right into the open wound. I mean he was really digging for the bottom of the hole where the tooth was. He said I wasn't cleaning it right, I was just dabbing a cotton ball on it.

It hurt like hell when he was doing it but the pain went away the next day.
