Moving there tomorrow (to teach). Looks like a nice little seaside town. Anyone been there before? Cheers.

Its small. Its claim to fame is its fish market. I've known people who lived there happily enough. Its close to Gangneung as well as other coastal & mountain attractions.

I've been there a few times. Like previously mentioned, it's definitely one of the places to be if you enjoy going to the beach and you like seafood.

PS. One of the reasons I came to Korea is because of a short report on Jumunjin that I saw on TV during the '88 games. The people they encountered were so nice, I knew I'd have to come to Korea one day.

I lived in Jumunjin for 2 years and if you're a very social person it may be a bit desolate. It's close enough to Gangnung for some nightlife, but it'l cost you about 20,000 won taxi to get home at night.

Personally, I love living next to the beach, going fishing each afternoon and being able to relax. It's a cool town and if you link up with the crowd in Gangnung, you'll have plenty of options socially. Good luck.
