This might be the grossest food or drinks I've ever heard of.

http://www.vice.com/shorties/how-to-make-faeces-wine

"Ttongsul" is a Korean rice wine mixed with the fermented turd of a human child. It has an alcoholic content of around 9 percent. Little is known about the origins of what is surely one of the world's most bizarre and gag-inducing medicines."

Anyone ever try it?

Well, the subjects are surely different. But the focus on the "items" seems to have concentration.

I see mini monuments around town related to poo. Young kids seem to have an odd focus on other people's dung holes. And now we have a poo drink... although the origins of it seem to be pretty obscure.

Americans seem to enjoy putting bacon on any number of food stuffs. There are restaurants focused on it now. I'd dare say, that it has become a cultural trademark of america now.

So... same type of obsession... meh. I don't know how you're differentiating all the various types of obsession. Odd focus for an outsider... that's how I'd characterize it.

How these comparisons happen....I have no idea.

Bacon is an edible food, Americans are obsessed with food.

Poo is human waste.

You are stretching too far. But that's usual for this forum.

So, in your mind you can NEVER compare one obsession with another. Obsessions are in an infinite number of categories, and they must NEVER be brought up to be similar.

I, jokingly, pointed out that as an outsider, I see two nations with, IMO, odd obsessions. I also noted that I'd prefer the bacon wine.

No where did I say they were the exact same. Nor did I trot out more than a few anecdotal examples... but as you've mentioned, as per this forum, someone will trot along and try to argue a point... apparently, today it's you.

Enjoy

The youtube comments have descended into the usual intellectual shitstorm (no pun intended). "Eww Koreans eat crap" "That nothing! Jap monkey pig eat Fukushima rice! You must know okay?" "F@ck the China! Is the dirty China culture! Korea culture no doing this things! Please understand!! F@ck you, okay?"

All things considered I still would probably rather drink this horror than eat bibimbap or nengmyun though.

The Korean media is frothing at the mouth over this. Apparently this news is from a Japanese news outlet.

I think it's safe to say that poo-booze is not something that most Koreans would think is okay to drink, although there is a weird scatological obsession that exists in the culture.
