I know they're very different....but if you had to put the one (physical beauty/small town feel) next to...well, the hugeness that is Seoul, which would come out on top? Is Seoul worth it due to the variety it offers, or is it overwhelming? |

Stay as far away from Seoul as possible. You don't want to live here. Too many rude people, traffic is insane, it's expensive, bad air quality, and you can't open the window at night because it's too noisy.
Yes..... go to Seosan. |

I like Seosan. You're not that far from the beach, lot of places for Western goods, but it still has that small town feel to it.
Also, if you want to go to Seoul, you're what, an hour and a half away? |

I've lived in both and liked Seosan better. Then again, I didn't like living in Seoul one bit. I'd definitely consider going back to Seosan if the opportunity were to arise. |

In the words of ttompatz paraphrasing here - Worry more about the job and less about the city you live. If the job is good, the time spent in a less popular area will be ok. If the job is bad and you are in the thick of city life, life still might very well suck.
Also where in Seoul? Do you not understand Seoul is a huge metropolitan city! Not including schools like to see as being in Seoul when actuality more close to Seoul. Some people who are in Seoul can take time getting places. It takes me less time to get to Seoul night life from Daejeon then it would for some people who are "located" in Seoul. True it will be more expensive, but that is a factor that needs to be considered. |
