Hi so I am applying to Avalon English Directly and not using a recruiter. I was wondering if anyone knew how the hiring process went for direct hire? A friend of mine who applied to Avalon through a recruiter said that in 2012 the hiring process changed and now they implement a Essay portion and a teaching sample video to their hiring process? I was wondering if anyone knew any info about this or if the hiring process is the same directly vs using a recruiter? I looked on their website and no info about it. Thank ahead of time!

The process is the same directly or through recruiter, as far as I know.
My understanding is though it is a franchise, the hiring terms are still dictated by head office and the essay and video is across the board.

Someone recommended Avalon to me and gave me an email address for one of the branches, but they just fowarded it to the main office, who then sent the application wth essay, questions, video etc.
I was then told by ex-avalon teachers to really be certain where i would be applying for as each branch's conditions can vary wildly.
Didn't end up applying.
